Losing Windows focus every few seconds

This is a desktop system which has been running extremely well until last night. now losing focus every few seconds. If a facebook game is in full screen mode it reverts to normal otherwise any keys pressed are ignored until focus is restored, sometimes this happens without intervention (usually losing 2-5 keystrokes) but about every dozen times it has to be manually restored by clicking the mouse on the window/text area.

yesterday downloaded AMD Catalyst Control Centre as a War Thunder update identified the need for a new graphics driver. I think it updated the driver.

I was going to uninstall the CCC but when i go to do that it's saying it will uninstall ALL AMD software, drivers etc.
Whilst typing this it has lost the focus 50 plus times. No hardware mods for over a year.

I've checked the mouse and other settings and all seem to be as they were. Also checked all cables are connected properly

    Any help gratefully received.

Hi and welcome to the Forum
Try a system restore to a point behind the update!

System restore is not an option - no restore points available - It was set but just checked system protection and its set off on all drives (partitions)

So if you have System Restore switched off I presume you have some other system back up like Macrium Reflect or similar?

No there is no backup available - I did not turn the backup off though. It was setup to take a weekly backup. I can only think that my daughter turned it off. but that doesn't explain how the previous files have been deleted.

Then I would strongly urge you to set up a good system backup as soon as this problem is resolved. You should also set your daughters acount to NOT touch sytstem settings.
In the meantime see if this might help:

problem is that the window focus is leaving the current window for somewhere unknown and then returning after a second or 2. When I uninstalled AMD's Catalyst Control Centre completely the problem got so bad it took me 10 minutes to post the previous message. Since re-installing CCC things are better but it is still moving out of the current text box or window every 4-5 seconds for a fraction of a second. If I put a facebook game into fullscreen mode it switches back to normal mode within the 4-5 seconds and that is also the limit for making a menu selection. This has only been for the last 24 hours but its driving me mad.

Reading from your previous posts .... Your problems only started when you Installed the Catalyst Control Center .... You might try downloading the Graphics Driver from your Manufactures web site .... Though i did also notice you have having other issues with Restore
