    Computer not booting after putting to sleep

    I recently accidentally put my computer to sleep, when trying to shut it off and since then it just refuses to boot. The motherboard usually beeps when booting up but thats stopped now, the only thing that happens is the fans all run for a couple of minutes before the computer powers down on its own, theres no power going to the usb ports either as the laser on the mouse doesnt light up, neither do the lights on the keyboard, I dont get any video output at all.

    The computer is custom built, and specs are:
    Motherboard - Asus P5-QE
    CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83GHz
    Ram: 2x 2GB Kingston DDR2
    GPU: ATI Radeon HD 6450 1GB
    PSU: Corsair TX650w

    I have tried:
    using my old GPU
    removing everything except the CPU and heatsink+fan
    same as above but with both GPU's seperately and 1 stick of ram
    rewiring the whole pc
    a 700w PSU
    removing 2 HDDs and booting only with the OS loaded HDD

    after the above the pc still wont boot, please help me

    UPDATE: after clearing CMOS the computer will now boot, but there are green squares where the asus logo would be when booting, it gets to a point where asks to enter bios to configure it, but then just cuts out after a few seconds when configuring bios. then it will cut off before it even reaches that point, after leaving the computer off for a few mins it will do the same thing up to configuring bios then cut off then starts and cut offs after about 3 secs until left off for a while

    UPDATE: Solved error by clearing CMOS and re-seating CPU + reapplying thermal compound.
