    UAC setting

    I turned off the uac setting a couple of months ago and I want to turn it back on (to the third setting from the top). It will let me move the pointer and click the ok button, but when I go back to the uac setting menu it still shows off (even after restarting the computer). Is there any idea how I can get this turned back on ?? Thanks -- Dave

    OK paste this in Notepad and save as UAC.reg

    Double click on it.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
    "ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin"=dword:00000005
    "EnableLUA"=dword:00000001

    I rebooted after changing the slider in (control panel--system and security--under action center--change user account control settings) then clicking OK button and exited and rebooted. Any other ideas ??

    That is the prescribed method.
    Have you used any program - hack - patch - crack to
    activate 7600? or to tweak it?

    With your version being 7100 and not 7600 I would not be sure if a REG from 7600 could be inserted and work properly.

    You might try a small program called TweakUAC.
    you can google it...
    If that does not work, and if you want. PM or EMail me and I'll send you the registery entry from my 7600-RTM.
    I'm not sure if different or not... but surely can not hurt.
