What grub4dos error? How did you have your system set up? What were you doing to generate the error? Removing Linux? Some detail would be helpful.

I was installing nfs the run and registered with origin

then my pc downloaded an service pack update when I pressed shut down it installed the update and started with bootmgr missing press any key to continue and got into grub4dos. I created a recovery disc and ran it

I went in cmd from the disc and fixed the bootmgr thru diskpart

now this is where I am now

I'm not familiar with that particular software package. My inclination would be to try the service pack rollback. Generally after installing anything more than a trivial app(like the little hotkey things I write) I leave the system alone for a few days/weeks. If it seems normal to the point of being boring then I might do a system update. Although I'mj prone to wait a month and see if other's are posting about how the new SP broke their systems. I let the new adopters take the fall unless I'm really psyched to try something like right now.

There should be something in the tutorials how to access System Restore from the command line. There should be a comment on the Restore Point made by the SP update.

Also if that doesn't seem to get anywhere search for "last known good"

Usually if you tap F8 while booting you'll get choices like "boot to command line" with and without network support. From that command line you can issue restore commands etc..

There should be step by step in the tutorials.

Through diskpart? diskpart is for creating/deleting/extending/shrinking partitions. Nothing to do with bootmgr!

Boot into recovery environment. Do you see your win7 there? Select it. Select "command prompt" . now do:
Code:
bootrec/fixboot
bootrec/fixmbr
Both succesfull? If so... now try to boot normally from harddisk

In Elevated Command Prompt
Code:
FOR /R C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 %G IN (*.dll) DO regsvr32 /s "%G"
This will take several minutes to complete. There will maybe be several C+ Runtime errors that will appear, as well as the system slowing down. Close all boxes that come on the screen except the CMD boxes. Once complete(it will come back to a c: prompt), restart the system and test.
