to hide the icon click on the triangle at the left of the tray area, select customize, find the offending icon, select either "only show notifications" or "hide icon and notifications" to keep the icon in the expanded tray area that you can access from the white triangle. To remove it altogether from the same panel select "turn system icons on and off".
It is recommended to keep it at "only show notifications" and from that tutorial you disable the warnings about stuff you know already (like Update being set to manual or disabling mainteneance).

Hello everyone, my first post here, i hope you can help.
My girlfriend has a new-ish laptop that came with Windows 7 Home Premium, and recently it had some issues. The issues have got worse and it turned out to be a stuffed drive, out of warranty, its basically stuffed.
I got a new HD and...
I live in belgium and naturally buy my hardware here. I don't, however, like to install my sotware in dutch as it's much easier to solve problems in english.
This means that I install an english windows 7 on my pc and I install english versions of software as wel.
Now, even though I do all...
In XP I also disabled the spooler service 'cuz I never print.
I have already turned off the pagefile and system restore.
What else can I do? I'm not quite familiar with the services, processes, etc. It's quite different from XP.
Thank you.
