Black Screen on Boot up, No OS Found

Hello everyone,

Starting today, when I had booted up my computer it goes to a black screen with no mouse cursor, nor is the Windows Startup screen displayed. When I used my repair disc to try and fix the situation, the OS was not listed or detected. What I know so far is as follows:

I can boot to BIOS.
The BIOS detects the hard drives.
The files on said hard drive are still detected.
I can still boot to the CD.
There are no error beeps from the computer upon boot up.
The Windows 7 Loading Screen does not show, as if the OS does not exist.

One strange thing that happened was inside the BIOS, the boot order of my harddrives was swapped, despite only one holding my windows 7 installation. I switched them back to normal in the BIOS, but there was no change in my problems.

I have not tried booting to safe mode in windows 7, as when I had woken up I did not remember which key to boot it to. I used F2 and F10, and neither gave the option to boot to safe mode. I could access the files if I decided to rip out the drives and put them in a drive dock.

Let me know if I need to gather more information, and I hope you guys can help out soon.

I'm at work right now so I do not have immediate access.

Will I still be able to boot to safe mode if the OS is not seen by Windows Repair Tool? By all accounts, Windows Repair Tool thinks my OS does not exist.

Status Update:

It cannot boot to safe mode.
The Repair Disk cannot see the OS.
The check disk command sees no problems.
SFC -SCANNOW yields an error: "A repair program is already in progress. Please restart and try again."

I ripped the drive out of the PC, and connected it to a harddrive dock. While I still am scanning for viruses and malware, the windows folder does not exist, it is gone outright. What could cause this?

Check the drive using the maker's diagnostics and Disk Check provided in tutorial. Since you have it slaved you can run the Windows diagnostics.

Check disk could not succeed if no Windows file exists on the HD. It must be hiding there somewhere, or the drive is faulty. I doubt whether it's eaten by a Hider virus, but run a full Malwarebytes scan and your AV full scan too.

If necessary copy out your files, wipe the HD with Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command and do a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 and you'll be better off than you were before, or may have ever been.
