Google Chrome is spyware??????
Google Chrome is spyware??????
My file folder for startup in programs is empty. In the tutorial it is not empty.
Thanks, it clarified what they were. It eliminates one possible cause since MSE is a valid program. As I understand it, you've only disabled the sidebar, not MSE.
I'm not sure I can help here, the other members on this thread are better able to assist you. My Interent connectivity is sketchy and I might not be able to log back on for a while. For the forseeable future I can ask questions, but can't follow though on an issue.
Good luck.
Yes, any installed Google program or remaining signed into any Google site allows them to built a consumer profile on you which is intrusive as can be, tracking your every more to target ads to you. Recent political news points to the government being privy to this tracking of your every move. Take it or leave it. I will not use any Google program or sign into their sites for this reason. Use the stable Google search box in IE or Firefox which doesn't allow them to spy.
You don't need any items in Startup folder or msconfig>Startup or >Services (after hiding all MS Services) except your AV, any sync, gadgets or stickies.
You could send a PM or VM to cluberti and ask him to look at this thread to see if he can help with your trace results.
Carl is the author of the Gathering a Startup, Shutdown, Sleep, Hibernate, or Reboot Trace tutorial.
This is from the tutorial:
Once the trace is complete, you will find a large .ETL file and a log file in C:\Boot_Trace. This .ETL file can then be compressed (using 7zip, winrar, winzip, etc.) and uploaded for analysis - however, due to its size, you will need to upload it to a third-party site such as MediaFire,MegaUploador RapidShare.
I seem to be ok now. I guess something someone suggested worked. I think I'm ok. It doesn't take long to load anymore. Bringing up a browser still takes a bit of time after I'm up. Maybe I'm being too impatient? I guess it would still be a good idea to get that log read. The zip actually attached here.
Thank you.
Why not? Getting a perfect Clean Reinstall is better than getting a new PC when you consider all the corrupting crapware that comes preinstalled on new PC's.
Everything needed is in the blue link.
If not then what were the results of the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7?
