I've lost the ability to create "NEW" folders

For some reason, I now cannot create any new folders. In Explorer (IE10), when a folder is open and I click on the "New Folder" button on the pane task bar at the top to create a new folder, nothing happens. It used to create an icon for an un-named new folder in the pane of the folder I was working in. I have also tried right-clicking any open area, either in the pane of the open folder or even on the desktop, and selecting the "New" option but there is no "New Folder" option in that list as there is supposed to be. I have also tried resetting the Explorer settings to default and re-starting but, again, no results. I have also tried restoring my computer's settings to previous points before various software was installed but, so far, nothing has corrected this problem. I have no idea when it began since I haven't tried creating NEW folders for some time.

An answer would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Tally, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if downloading and merging the .reg file for the listed folder option in the tutorial below may be able to help. It will restore the default associations and registry entries for folders.
    Hope this helps, :)
