ok it works! Thank you I don't mind hitting that envelope sign and the actual url is mailed to me and I copy and paste that in a window I open and then can hit favorite. It takes time but I can at least see it now. On the strange pages I can't copy the url at the top. Only part of it will show. Thank you!
Next week Friday I am thinking of calling my pc man and checking for a time to take the hard drive in and have him wipe it out and start over. By then I will have wasted all of your time for long enough. Thanks for the help.

If you want to do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 and will back up externally an image your current install first, then once you get online to install TeamViewer Download I will connect to set it up and optimize it for you.

Read over the steps closely to see if it's something you'll want to do, ask back any and all questions.

Since even with the first dvd' I made when I brought the pc home I know that I will screw it up so badly I could never do it. Does this other one mean that I download the program and you can come into my pc and do it remotely and I don't have to do anything? That I could do!! lol My friend in the USA is in her 70's and she can't even drag a folder off a dvd to listen to an audio book! She contacts someone who comes into her pc and sets up things and does all the things she doesn't do. Which is pretty much anything. Is this what you mean? I will move my pictures and folders I have in documents over to my external and can move them back when it is fixed. It would save me $100 or more plus the 1 hour drive with over $10 a gallon for gas. I will share some of the first million I win in a lottery.

You'd need to boot the installer provided in Step 1 of the tutorial, do the actual install as illustrated in Clean Install Windows 7 then install the network driver to get online to where you can install TeamViewr so I could remotely connect.

Do you have a friend or someone you trust who could do this for you, perhaps bring their laptop or tablet over to be walked through the steps live on it?

Nope! My neighbors son knows alot about computers but he is so lazy he can barely walk to the bus stop. He does nothing at home and I am sure wouldn't help me. I will read over the instructions and get back to you. Think I will call the man who works on my pcs when they crash and see what he would charge. I simply don't trust myself and my hubby barely knows how to turn on and off and write a letter in yahoo. He can't even copy and paste or save email addresses. So can't get help from him. He comes to me but it is always small things I know how to do. I will get back to you just give me a couple of days to see if I can figure out the instructions. Thanks.

I read what was in that tutorial and frankly it is like reading it in another language I simply don't feel that I should do it. I don't know what I am doing. I am copying user folder Bonnie to my external and the things I have put in that I use I am going to make a list so I know exactly what to get and where to download again. After that my mind looks like a blank sheet of paper. If you had a land line I guess you could talk me through it but that would be a long call. I can call landlines and have it realitively cheap but if I call a cell not only do I pay my special rate but the person I call has to pay $1.50 a minute. By copying my users folder do I trust that I am not putting the mess back into my pc?

Sort your data into the related User folders (Documents, Desktop, Picture, Music, Downloads, etc) putting your installers for programs into Downloads. Then drag each one you've used to external so you're backed up.

You'll also need to back up your mail program. I suggest you consider a new web mail program like Yahoo, Hotmail or Gmail which stores everything on their servers so you don't have to worry about losing it.

The other steps cover everything else to remember working up to the actual install. Can you think of someone with a laptop who can come over so I can walk you both through it using TeamViewer on the laptop until you get it installed on the new Win7?

My husband has a laptop and he could come into my computer area and I can force him to help. lol If I had it on and sitting next to me he wouldn't have to be here would he?
I guess the files for the programs would be the program file and I just copy and move it to the external? I have all of the things in the user folder moved. Takes forever.
Roger is gone to England until next week. Maybe you can babysit me along the way while I figure some of this out? I really appreciate your help Greg. What is the Team Viewer? Do I need to install something on Rogers pc? Well actually he doesn't have to be home if I just bring his lap top in. WOW you can see how my mind works by 9:30 pm. Doesn't that scare you? You can back out I wouldn't blame you. You will probably need to tell me things several times.

Programs cannot be backed up but must be reinstalled. What programs do you have? Any which are paid software will need their Key to reinstall. We can help you find the latest installers for each, and show you how to audit the key from the system if you don' t have it any longer.

I don't have any paid for programs. I am getting the downloads but not running them of course and will put them on the flash drive. That will save a lot of time. My incredimail is paid for but I have the registration numbers written down. I have canceled all mailings and whe the time comes will tell friends to write to a gmail address.
