    Hi Bonnie, welcome to SevenForums!

What type of DVDs are you burning to? Are they re-writeable (i.e. DVD-RW)?

I can upload a video that I've encoded in PAL for you to burn as a test, but I don't want to use up all of your DVDs in the process!

    Tom regarding DVD's

I use the ones that do not rewrite as they are kept for ever or until dvd's are no longer used.
If you have a burning program that works I certainly don't mind trying it out. Wasting a few dvd's won't kill me. Luckily I bought lots when a company went out of business.
I will probably buy the ConvertXtoDVD - back when I didn't know people could burn things to dvd's a lady sent me this program and I thought it was freeware! I just found out that it wasn't. I was shocked. Must have been cracked. Anyway it has worked so well and I do burn a fair amount every year. You Tube has very old movies and Christmas movies that I have collected since video's came out. Had them all on video and then had to change to dvd. If you can tell me what freeware you use I will get it.
    Thank you so much.

Bonnie did you say that you had a converter at one time which did this for you successfully? What is wrong with using that one now? Can you remind us exactly what it is you are trying to do, i.e. what format videos need converting to what other format?

I knew nothing about burning a movie or cartoons etc from YouTube but a lady in a group told me how she used ConvertXtoDVD and it was wonderful. She sent me a link and said she was sending it to me with instructions. For years I thought it was a freeware. It went into a 2nd pc but in this one it didn't so I went looking for it and found out it is $40 or something like that. Money is tight and I had hoped I could find a freeware one but Roger is going to help me with ½ so I can install it. You Tube usually comes in mp3 or something else. I have used Leawo to change them to AVI and then the convert program turns them into PAL. A system Europe uses. I think that it now will change many other formats and I probably wouldn't need leawo. I have to check that out further. I get medication from America every month that is not found here - nothing terrible some homeopathic liquid vitamins and something with all kinds of vitamins and minerals and juices that I take at night and it puts me in a deeper sleep which helps as I usually don't feel the back pain for at least 4 hours. The vitamins have taken away all of the fibromyalgia pain. But with postage since both are liquid and expensive I pay $100 every 35 days. Really hard to find. But that is better than the pain and fevers I ran with fibro. So I always look for freeware. Well yell to stop. As usual I over explain.

Are you aware that it is against You Tube Rules to download from their site?

I had asked you why the kids couldn't watch these cartoons on the PC monitor which would be a lot easier for you. Just set it up for them like the TV with a "hands-off" rule.

The ConvertXtoDVD author's site has a free download here: ConvertXtoDVD - AVI to DVD Video Converter to burn on DVD

Are the features included sufficient for what you want?

This is it but it is only a free download not freeware. This is where I will buy it. We have 4 grandchildren and the pc is in my bedroom. The children also get a dvd to take home every time and love it. I downloaded this from this site and then found out it was only free download. I never remember to look for freeware. There is a site that says it is the free version of this but it didn't burn so we could see it.

Mitchell65. No I didn't know that. There are you tube downloaders all over the place. I thought it was fine. Strange that they don't allow cartoons from 1941 and old Christmas movies that were made for tv and not found on dvd to be downloaded. Life doesn't make sense.

Use the author's site I linked for you. When you select the green Free Download button, have you tried it out yet? Normally this would be some kind of free versions so you can see if it has the features you want included for free. Try that first.

    Regarding free download

I had put this in and tried it a couple of days ago but I put it in again and when I cancel it I say it was to expensive and then the price will go down some. At least it did before. I have attachments to show you it is trial only and a water mark is left across the screen when you try it. Makes it disturbing to see.
Thanks anyway it was worth a try.
