Do you have a blank DVD or flash stick to burn or write the latest official installer ISO for your licensed version to disk or stick? This is in the first two steps of Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 .

Confirm this is your exact PC model and the Network driver shown there when you expand it is the same one in your Device Manager under Network adapters>Wireless. If so download it and save in your backup in case it isn't provided during install so you can get online on your network: Software & Driver Downloads HP Pavilion p6-2020sc Desktop PC | HP® Support.

Then expand Drivers-Original and confirm in Device Manager that the Realtek Family driver is the installed Ethernet driver for your PC. It may be better to plug in via wire during install because then there is a 70% chance the driver will be provided and start up read to connect. With wireless only there is only a 50% chance.

All other drivers should be provided during repeated rounds of Important and Optional Windows Updates I will do for you.

Here is the TeamViewer Download . If you want to install it on the other laptop I can walk you through the physical install steps when you're ready. You only need to send me a private message with the ID and password and leave it open on desktop.

It sounds like it would be much better to have another person on the laptop. Roger will be calling in a couple of days and be home the end of next week. He has a heart condition and is almost always in bed by 8:30 or 9 pm. But that is when you and I would need to be on. I will ask him if he can help one evening. Does it take a long time before you can take over? I know by 11 he would be asleep over the laptop. I am getting the downloads for the programs I use and those are on the flash drive. Am still trying to find out where Windows Photo Gallery actually files all the pictures or should I just drag them all off. There are 100's more than are in my pictures under libraries. Roger fills his memory cards and if I don't have all of the photos there they will all redownload and will take all day. Thank you Greg.

Your pictures should be stored in your User Pictures folder. Go there now to see for sure. Windows Photo Gallery is only one way to view them.

nope only the new resized ones that I have put in the pictures library. I will just pull the other files over. As Roger has filled a memory card I delete the photos and those on windows photo gallery are the large ones. I do back up all of his pictures on dvd but know we are using some ½ full memory cards now. It won't be a problem will just mark and drag to the external and will move them back I hope to Windows Gallery. Not sure it will do that. hmm will check it out.

The Gallery is just a viewer. Pictures don't reside there. They reside in the folder you place them.

In the Start search box above the button type the names of a few pictures, when they show up in results rightclick each to Open File Location. See if they are all there. I would drag them to Pictures.

You're best organized when all of your files reside in your User Name's Pictures, Documents, Music, Videos, Desktop, Downloads and Favorites folders.

Oh for goodness sake. Yes they are there tucked inside another folder inside another folder etc. Good no dragging. Just a few news ones I took in the last couple of days. Thanks. I guess I really need Roger here reading instructions to me.

The way to deal with that is open the sub-folders, on Organize tab "Select All" then drag the pictures inside to the Explorer bar on the left side to the Pictures folder under Libraries (easiest route). Don't release the held Left Click until the hypertext confirm it's copying them to My Pictures. It takes some practice.

Once you do this with each unwanted sub-folder clogging your Pictures folder you can delete them in My Pictures after confirming you've got everything out of each one.

Be patient with yourself as this takes practice. Remember to hold the left click firmly until you're ready to release the pictures because it's confirmed they're copying to the correct folder.

Let's keep the help in the thread for now so others can chip in.

Type Device Manager in Start button Search box. Click on result at top.

Expand Network Adapters to confirm that these are the correct drivers by make and model which are currently installed and functioning:

Ralink Wireless Network Controller Driver Update - HP Pavilion p6-2020sc Desktop PC | HP® Support=

Original Realtek Network Controller Driver - HP Pavilion p6-2020sc Desktop PC | HP® Support=

Plug in by wire for the reinstall since there's about a 70% chance the wired Ethernet (Network) driver will be delivered during install, but only a 50% chance the Wireless driver will. Either way you can install both to get online once the install is complete if you are not able to connect to your network in the bottom-right System Tray.

    Any questions?

Hello, My son called and told me that I should go with this and stop being stressed with Roger reading what you say I can do it and if I really do screw it up then I can take it to a repair shop. So I am going to stop being a coward.
The serial number of my HP desktop is CZC1474WCN
I have attached the screen shot of my drivers.
You said I need to back up the drivers for both of them. How do I do that please?

The listings confirm that the Realtek download is for your Network Wired connection.

Please double click on the Wireless LAN card driver listing under Network Controllers to show us the Driver tab.
