    0xc0000142 Application Error

    Hi,
I installed FreeYouTubeUploader and it worked fine until i closed it.
a moment later i tried to fire it up again just to get

    FreeYouTubeUploader.exe - Application Error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). click OK to close the application.
i did not reboot the system, can't think of something might of installed in this period of time.
    running Win 7 Ultimate 32bit.

from reading other threads this problem seems to spread to other apps quickly, but so far i haven't run into anything else that doesn't work.

it does start from safe mode, which only makes it weirder.
i tried EventViewer but in the system log, it outputs the same text. it doesn't give any additional information.

i ran a full anti-virus and maleware scan, didn't come up with anything.

any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like you have a corrupted registry file. Download Ccleaner from here and install. Open Ccleaner and in the left column choose "Registry" and run that.

EDIT: just read this again and notice that in your profile you show you a running Win 7 Pro but in the post you say you are running Win 7 Ultimate. Have you just installed Ultimate?

    unfortunately it didn't help.
ran Ccleaner on the registry, "fixed" all the issues (more like deleted all the bad keys), reinstalled FreeYouTubeUploader
    same error.

    Welcome to the forums Necromancer,

Have you tried running a Startup Repair?

The error points to this 0xC0000142 STATUS_DLL_INIT_FAILED -

    Code:
{DLL Initialization Failed} Initialization of the dynamic link library %hs failed. The process is terminating abnormally.

Im running Ultimate and its not a new system.
This install is several years old and im trying to take good care of it.
I remember i first had problems with win 7, and i posted here for help, it could be i had pro then, and decided to go ultimate as a resault.

Also, my windows doesnt update automatically.
Updates are turned off. every now and then i update manually if needed. But if this problem is not explicitly mentioned in one of the updates then updating is no more then a shot in the dark to fix this problem.

Startup Repair requires the Win 7 disc, which apparently i left at my parents house when i moved.
i'll make sure to grab it when i go there...

I doubt that help though, as there is nothing wrong with the system otherwise. no startup problems or problems with other software.

It will rule out any possible registry corruption, and I wouldn't turn off Windows Updates, they will provide many stability and security improvements for your system.

i have updated windows, installed all security updates.
i tried "clean boot", still same problem.

i don't understand how come it works in Safe mode, but not on normal.
i mean i know normal mode loads tons of additional stuff, but i mean, is there no way to trace down what exactly causing it using the fact it does work on safe mode as a reference point?

I would attempt the Startup Repair as soon as possible, may I ask why you need the program? Why don't you just upload videos through the YouTube website?

i capture videos in HD, so i upload 2GB videos on a roughly 150Kb/s upload connection.
the regular youtube site is uploading much slower, and the connection usually breaks resulting in a massive waste of time.
i was skeptical at first too, but after trying it, i can honestly say its just much much faster and reliable then the youtube website upload.

so i would really want to get it back into working state, cus it seems right now i'll have to boot into safe mode for uploads :-(

Okay thanks for explaining, again there may be some registry corruption.
