Message on startup

Hello,

I have Windows 7 Ultimate and an annoying Dos pop up window saying it runs C:\Windows Update\server.exe which does not really exist opens two times or three making me wait some time before the other startup processes finish and windows been functionable. I have run antivirus and registry fix program and didn't work. What should i do to fix it?

You can run msconfig and look in the startup tab, see if you can find it there.

From what I found searching for C:\Windows Update\server.exe, this could be malware.
You should start running anti-virus and anti-malware scans, or ask in the Security forum.

Did you install the OS, or is it an OEM (PC manufacturer) installation?

Hi Marios, welcome to 7F!

Hi David, I'd like to ask Marios if he is a gamer, has had any use for Daemon Tools or any use for something as innocuous as Teleflora's floral point-of-sale system from Teleflora?

SystemLookup - server.exe

Description: The file server.exe is located in a subfolder of "C:\Program Files". Known file sizes on Windows 7/XP are 73,728 bytes (42% of all occurrences), 73,987 bytes and 34 more variants.
File server.exe is not a Windows system file. The program has no visible window. server.exe is able to record inputs. Therefore the technical security rating is 44% dangerous, however also read the users reviews.
You can uninstall the program Game Jackal or CesarFTP, update it, or try to get help from the software vendor. Click on www.gamejackal.com to update it, click on www.gamejackal.com to visit the vendor's website, or click on Game Jackal or CesarFTP in Windows Control Panel (section Software or Programs) to uninstall it.

From post #4, I think that the OP installed a retail version of W7 - thus no OEM/factory restore.

@Marios,
Please post a screenshot of the start up tab of msconfig.
