    Firewire- Need help connecting Camcorder

Windows 7, Home edition, 32 bit. Desktop Computer

I bought a Firewire card to plug my Panasonic DV camcorder in my computer. I want to transfer my video to a editing software, or direct to my hard drive, then make a DVD.

I plug in the camcorder, turn it on, and I get a message saying it's already in use. close or shut down program.??

I can't figure out what's going on. Can't download any video to any type of program.

Any ideas where to look/proceed? Thank You

    Review this,
    AutoPlay - Enable or Disable
Most devices like this will have a Upload switch/ Refer to the owners manual.
Also click Start and click Computer/ Power up the device and connect the cable,
The device might show up as the name of the device or as a Removable storage with a Drive letter/ E-F-G...after a few seconds while windows loads it's driver.
