Need help, deleted application, and now no volume or dimmer control.

Hello there, I am in need of some help. I recently cleaned out some unneeded applications on my control panel, and restarted my computer, but now I've lost my volume control/ dimmer control. There use to be a little black box that would pop up whenever i increased or decreased my volume or dimmer, but now its gone. I would like to have that back. I don't remember the application i deleted. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

There's proprietary software that provides this functionality. You may need to scour Lenovo's website for downloads of this nature, or contact them directly to see if they can provide you with a download. Or if the laptop came with backups of this kind where you can install the various software from CDs, then start looking. :)

And don`t be so reckless when deleting software if you don`t know what you`re doing.

Why would you think you don`t need a volume control for your pc ?

Wow, your OS is called New York ?

And Welcome to Seven Forums :)

lol not to be rude, but I was kind of thinking the same thing. Google twice, uninstall once.

I did Google the software, and it came up as ad-ware. So instead of coming here first, I deleted it. And i'm still unable to find a solution. It's not the volume control i'm missing, just the black bar that pops up whenever i changed the volume or the dimmer. I know you arnt being rude, I found the "NY" thing to be funny too.

I know what you're missing, and the only way I know of for this to go missing is by uninstalling its software. This is likely proprietary software that Lenovo offers, so what I said before is still what I'm recommending.

Went to the website, found some useful material, but now i'm lost. I visited Lenovo Support - Drivers & Software (US), but now i'm unsure where to look. Or I might be looking in the complete wrong place. I also looked up a manual but I was again unable to find the solution. It looked all Greek to me.

I don't know if the manual is going to be helpful for this unless they anticipated someone uninstalling this software.

What are all of your download options for the drives and software?
