Laptop Unable to SHUT DOWN!!

    Laptop Unable to SHUT DOWN!!


    Model : DELL Inspiron n4050
    windows 7 ultimate 32 bit

    Here is my problem

    When i press shut down, the laptop will shut down as usual but at the end the processor and the lid is still on.. I tried shut down in safe mode but it get stuck at the shut down screen.

    and

    When i put my laptop into sleep mode, no matter i press what button, it still wont awake..

    May i know any solution to resolve this?

    Any help and guidance r highly appreciated.. Thank you..

    try typing "shutdown –s –f –t 0" into cmd without the quotes, then reboot and try shutting down afte.r

    If that doesnt work, I had a similar problem before. It can be caused by a persistent program not wanting to shut down. Try logging off, and then pressing shut down.

    Welcome to Seven forums.

    Kindly perform a clean boot following to know if any of the application is preventing the system from shutting down. Check this link below for performing the same:

    In addition to the others suggestions, the laptop not waking from sleep, could be a result of drivers not supporting sleep. This is especially true with legacy drivers and hardware.

    I have tried all above things.
    I even reinstalled windows but the problem still remains.

    Hi Ahmad317,

    I appreciate the time and effort that you took to troubleshoot the issue. Have you done a clean re-installation of windows on the system.
