    Hello guys,

A couple of days ago my right click drag-and-drop stopped working... restarted alright (thought it'd be that simple) but it's not back...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks :)

Just to clarify: my right click works ok, so it's not the mouse that's at fault, I would guess...

I have the same problem and am looking for a solution. It's definitely not the mouse; it's a software problem. It happened first on my desktop at work. Later, it happened on my laptop. I did a System Restore to earlier in the day, and it fixed the problem on my laptop. Then I reinstalled the program that prompted the Restore point, and my right-click drag-and-drop still worked. Therefore, I don't think it's a program I installed.

When it stopped working on my laptop, I remember that I had to kill the Explorer process for some reason. (I think I was copying something from an external drive, and explorer.exe stopped responding, so I killed it and tried to go along my merry way.)

I've looked around, and the only solutions I can find are checking to see if drag.exe, drop.exe, or TEXTER is running. I've never seen any of these processes.

    Any ideas?

In a admist account type cmd in search
then in cmd typ sfc /scannow. All corruption will be corrected

If that does not work try system restore. I use it to solve these little annoying problems. Worked every time.

Well, I figured out what the problem was. It likely affects nobody but me, but just in case:

If you use the 3rd party app, VistaSwitcher (the Vista/Win7 replacement to TaskSwitchXP), and you enable the "Replace the Right Mouse Button + Wheel" option, it will break right-click dragging functionality such as right-click drag-and-drop, as well as mouse gestures in Firefox. So disable it if you care about those things.

Also, I realized that middle-click drag-and-drop does the same thing as the right-click version, in case anybody cares. :)
