    Unusual notice on start up

On starting Firefox I get the Google page OK but also a notice that purports to offer me backup facilities. The notice reads: "REMINDER Your computer is Not Backed Up. Backup Your Files Online Today. Free computer backup available. BACK UP NOW"

There is no evidence that this is MS or Windows-generated.

Anyone know how I can prevent this pesky notice? Or should I accept the offer?

    Thanks,

    redroger

    AdwCleaner

    Click on Download Now button

    Save to the Desktop

    Right-click on AdwCleaner.exe and choose

Click on Delete and confirm the prompt.

Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.

Upload the log : The log file is at C:\AdwCleaner[Sn].txt

When you get the message, look in Task Manager to see what is running that is generating it. Probably some online backup software you installed along with something else.

You have been given some good advice VistaKing and Ztruker.
What ever you do don't do the backup from and service you didn't request and knowingly install. You could send all your personal information to a place you will never see again.

    unuaual message

I got a Windows 7 message, asking to send an error report. The error said I had send 4,200 messages, and showed the path to the file that had the messages listed. On the next day, I got a phone call from a guy (sounded like he was from India), saying that he was on the Windows 7 team, and wanted me to go to my computer and he would fix the problem regarding the 4,200 messages. He said Windows 7 would fail, if I did not fix it. I told the caller that I had a better idea; send me an email, and gave him my address.
Well, I have yet to get the email.
I did correct the 4,200 messages problem, by deleting all traces of "Blekko" from my computer. No more messages are being sent.
