Random reset and system freezes during screensaver

Just had a random pc reset during a game of League of Legends. I've also been getting freezes when the PC transitions into screensaver mode. There hasn't been any BSODs yet and I've had this issue before - PC freezing when the monitors go on standby and a ntoskrnl BSOD

I still have the fixes in action from that thread. Not sure what I should try next. Posting my dxdiag alongside this. Thanks in advance.

My first suggestion would be check your GPU temps (use SpeedFan), check your GPU fan and heatsink to make sure they're clean and moving freely, verify the card is firmly in the slot along with its power cord. And reinstall your graphics card (Download the driver from nVidia and before installing check "Perform clean install"). When you say reset are you saying it restarts, the screen turns off but their is still hard drive activity, screen turns off and no hard drive activity, or the entire system turns off?

With the one reset I had it was a full reset as if I had pressed the reset button on the front of my tower. For the "freezes" that happen when my pc goes to screensaver, there is still HDD activity (as far as I can tell) and the fans are still moving. I sometimes get random freeze ups while doing general things like browsing the web. I've checked my GPU and it's all clean and seated correctly.

It sounds to me as if your video card is on its way out. Did you try doing a clean install of the nVidia drivers? I also would recommend using FurMark to do a GPU stability test, it will see if the GPU is making any processing errors. If that fails after reinstalling the drivers then it's pretty much guaranteed the card is on its way out.

You might be right my friend
I've had it a year or so now and I've pushed it pretty hard. I get paid next month so I might have to set aside some cash for a new one.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions :P

EDIT: Would I be best going for a Radeon since my CPU is AMD?

A year really isn't that old for a video card. Some cards I've bought had lifetime warranty. I'd recommend contacting the card maker to see if it's still under warranty, some will even discount the price on a new one if it's out of warranty. I go nVidia all the way, I love AMD CPUs but not their video cards since they've given me many problems. Plus over all mixing companies has no known side effects. But in my opinion if you want to try it go ahead, if it doesn't work return it.

Sorry to interfere here but have you got an on board graphics card? If so try removing the PCI card and connecting to the on board one. See if the problem persists! That way you should know whether the PCI card is on the blink!
BTW I know it's nit picking but this is a Windows 7 Seven Forum. This thread should be in the Windows 8 Forum.
EDIT Just found an image of the back of your mobo and it does have a VGA connection!

Doesn't look like his MB has built in graphics. But you could substitute the card with an old one if available. Plus another good test would be move the video card to another PCI slot.

The lock screen sees random freezes and a hard reset is required.
Hello, at random times the lock-screen freezes and a hard reset is needed. Keyboard light still toggle yet the SysReq + REISUB key combination does not do anything. Where is some syslog for checking why the kernel dumped and find potential solutions? This is windows 8.1, is this a known bug?
