Roaming folder gone missing

I was looking for the Roaming folder (%appdata%) in Windows 7. Could not find it. Does anybody know how to get at it or does it not exist any more.

In addition, C:\Users\(user-name)\AppData is a hidden system folder that needs to be unhidden before you can see it.
