Pinning icons to taskbar in W7

I cannot get some icons, My Computer, Control Panel etc., to pin to the taskbar in W7. It keeps pinning them to Windows Explorer.

I have just bought a new computer running W7 because my old computer running XP suffered from old age.

In XP all you had to do was click on the icon, unlock the task bar, and drag the icon to the taskbar, but that doesn't work in W7

So how do you pin icons to the taskbar in W7.

    Thanks.:)

im using win 8 atm so cant check, but if you open control panel cant you then right click the icon on the taskbar and select pin to taskbar.

im not so sure about computer, it may be possible to track it down in the "C//windows" folder then crete a shortcut , what i do is in an open explorer page , click computer in the left side of the window tree

That works great derekimo. I have found another way to do it also.
Start Orb and type Control Panel. Right click on Control Panel and choose Pin to Taskbar.

Don't know what I am doing wrong. I follow the instructions for pinning computer and when I unzip the file and pin it to the taskbar I get and icon for libraries. Tried 4 times and got the same results. Never computer.
