It doesn't matter how long ago you installed Windows, it might still be corrupted. Just out of interest where did you get your installation disc from?

I don't really remember where I bought it from, either UK or the US
I was living in Germany at the time, I recently moved back to France
have been trying to find the discs but all my boxes are not sorted out yet
anyway, there is nothing fishy about my win7, it passed all the online recognition hurdles
this said, any OS can get corrupted...

    Might be worth running this:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

It sounds to me like its some factory bloatware. I would look in control panel-uninstall a program and see if anything mentions fingerprints or what not. If so uninstall it.

But the OP said he bouht the Windos Disc in the UK or USA? I assume he bought a full retail version as he says there is nothing wrong with his version of Windows.

    hello
right, there's nothing wrong with my version of win7
I'm not comfy enough with computers to use anything out of the line !!

alas, I ran the file checker and it came empty :

but I still have the issue with the logon screen which pops up now and then and forces me to make a restart to come in

I fear the day when this screen comes also after restarts !!!!!

I'm not suggesting for one moment that your copy of Windows 7 is anything but OK but would you be prepared to download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link:
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink
and copy and post the result here? Just to double check. If you prefer not to then no problem!
