Backup your files that are on the suspect HDD, ASAP.

If you don't need to run it (i.e. there are no programs/games on it) disconnect it and see if your PC behaves itself.

You could also try using different SATA sockets on your motherboard (if you have any spare ones).

I used to get the error you reported. If I remember correctly, I got it on every re-boot. I installed windows 7 by downloading it and creating the dvd from the iso. If this is how you installed windows 7 then the following link will explain how to fix the error (it worked for me): Event ID 10 is logged in the Application log after you install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 Unfortunately i don't think it has anything to do with your freeze issue. I remain suspicious of your hard drive as I mentioned a little earlier. Also I'd 1st try the above suggestions from lehnerus2000.

To be more specific, it seems to just stutter. When I watch a video it will play a very slow, stuttery version of the dialogue that just happened. Same with music playing. But the mouse and screen are frozen. When I start up my computer it doesn't happen yet but after a while (especially, it...

After I start up my computer it seems to work fine but starts to freeze for 3-5 seconds the returns to work normally, this lasts for about 30 seconds before it freezes again. I'm pretty sure this isn't virus or internet connection related. I have been trying to pin point the problem for the last...
