    OK, when you get the option to select windows,click it and immediately start pressing F8

    wait, how'd you get to safe mode before you new how to do the F8 thing?

    I guess because I held down the power button when I turned it off. The next time I booted into 7 it had safe mode as an option.

    ok, lets start with gregs FIRST suggestion :) Go to startup repair, tell me when you get there, don't do anything else
