That is what I was thinking to but its worth a shot i used it on my current PC that was doing the same thing and it solved all my problems
Before attempting to repair startup confirm all infection is cleaned up using one of the bootable scans from Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot - Windows 7 Forums
You must sequence Startup Repairs correctly after confirming the correct Active partition, then run three times with reboots no matter what it reports.
However even if you patch it up to work, you're still stuck with the worst install one can have with an HP crapware preinstall, so I'd Clean Reinstall
I would also, after the clean reinstall, NOT install any AVG software, there are many instances where it and w7 don't work and play well.
Have you thoroughly cleaned all the vents out and use it on a hard surface so they aren't blocked?
hey guys thanks for coming to my rescue.... let me update you guys where i am at, and hopefully one day someone can read through our words and find the help they need and not suffer so many head aches as i have!
I let chkdsk run, i ran it long time back but it kept hanging up, so i figure its a virus or my HD failing and then pursued to remove the virus if any. To be honest all my diag tools where unusable. This lead me further to believe i had a virus.
So after letting chkdsk run, it got hung right after countdown so i went to bed and left it on for 12 hours, i rebooted. Same problem, it kept trying to redo the chkdsk, because it never began in the first place (wasted 12 hours) and so i just did a f11 recovery. Its currently reinstalling from factory (FINALLY) but with all the HP bloated software.
Now i have a major problem still, this is the 3rd time i have recovered from my partition and the virus has magically reappeared. If it does so again, even though ill mildly browse facebook, youtube. I know the virus is installed somewhere deep and just reinstalling itself after reformat.
If that happens, ill post with the blues again and maybe we can go from there.
Quick suggestions on what i can do from the get go on factory reinstall to find that pesky virus, or first steps to take?
and if i haven't said it enough, thanks guys!!
Are you reimporting data? If so before copying it in, run a full Malwarebytes and AV scan on it. Then run the same on all partitions.
If you want to proceed with the bloated inferior HP preinstall then IŽd at least Clean Up Factory Bloatware
Otherwise the Recovery may be infected which means you could only wipe the HD to run Recovery Disks if you made them before this all transpired.
Your best bet is still to do the Clean Reinstall, but first wipe the HD with Clean Command as shown in Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command. When you boot into the installer press Shift + F10 to access the Command Line to run the commands.
okay greg thanks for the info, i still can not run diskcheck after reinstall and i assume i will have same problems with mem check and startup repair as before...
first thing i did was download malewarebytes and updated and ran full scan on all drives with no infetions..
by av do you mean avg or avast?
I would not use AVG bloatware, just Avast or MSE.
Stick with the tools and methods in the tutorial to get best performance you can out of the horrible HP factory preinstall.
All of your symptoms also point to a failing hard drive too, not necessarily an infection.
Try this too, download this: CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World and open the program and follow the steps in this snip.

This may give you a little bit of time, but the drive should be replaced soon.
Some hardware tests to run.
Hard drive(s)test(s):
Pick one for your HDD brand or use Seatools.

RAM (memory) test:
This will require memtest on a bootable CD or USB stick.
