Bought new computer at Best Buy and it was already set up?

    Hello All,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. You may have to be patient with me as I know next to nothing about computers. Two years ago (when I was completely and totally ignorant to technology) I bought a new laptop at Best Buy. This computer came in a sealed box from beneath the display and did not appear to be tampered with. However, when I brought the computer home and opened it, I found that it was already completely set up. There were GeekSquad shortcuts on the desktop as well as locked files that required a password. I know I shouldve brought it straight back to Best Buy, but I was just a ditzy teenager back then and didnt think anything of it (and hate myself now for not doing so). I have been totally unable to find anything even remotely related to this on the Internet. The reason I'm posting about it now, however, is because I'm unequivocally paranoid since learning about the dangers of hacking and here I am, without access to all of the files on my own computer. Does anyone know why this would be? Can my computer be remotely viewed by the previous owner (who/whatever that was) because of this? I definitely didn't pull it off of the display. Thank you for your time.

There will be Best Buy spyware on that install in addition to the inferior factory preinstall. I would do the vastly superior Clean Reinstall OEM.

Short of that I would Clean Up Bloatware
