Windows 7 Toshiba laptop unable to boot
I was using my laptop casually, playing a game, listening to music, when I get this pop-up from McAfee, telling me that there are two threats to my computer. I disregard it, since I use Norton anyway, and I just did a full scan yesterday. When I click on the "x" button to close the McAfee window, my computer completely freezes, but the music continues playing (glitches a bit but continues.) until the song stops. Then the cursor completely freezes too. So I force my laptop to shut down by holding down the power button. I wait a little bit and turn it back on, to find out it's unable to boot.
I get this page that says:
Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.
This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer.
If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer.
Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred.
Then it gives me the option to press Enter to continue, or Esc to exit.
When I press enter, it takes me to another screen which says "Windows has failed to start." Then gives me two options: Start windows normally, or launch startup repair. Either option has the same result, it takes me back to the initial error screen.
How can I fix this?
