But sounds like you fried something, MB or part of the PSU voltage
Here are some pics. They are a bit hard to see through pics (good camera mind you) but the last one shows the most clearest pic. I highlighted the damage. When it smoked, it was hot to the touch.

ps: I have tried booting with a different monitor, different outlit and an hdmi cable and vga cable. No joy.

I will add that asrock motherboards appear to have a high failure rate.... but Its true, I have most likely fried it because breadboarding is not working. Should I try the 350F baking for 8 minutes in the oven after we troubleshooted every possible action?

ps 9000:
after doing some research this board does have a speaker connector. If I looked on ebay or anywhere appropiate, I could get a speaker to plug into the speaker chassis connector and see if I could get some beeps to help with the diagnosing.

Or get a new motherboard if all else fails (first troubleshooting and maybe later the 350F baking)

The reason I asked if you updated the vid card driver shortly before was because there has been problems reported with the 500 series and the latest nvidia driver.

What happens to some is the driver sets the voltage high in the bios and causes the card to overheat which can fry the card or damage the motherboard.

More info can be had in this link https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...ally-broken-/1

It may be nothing to do with your problem but I only mention it as I had a 500 series card that was damaged due to the driver.
