Weird problem with my new set up (Win7)

Well, I just build a new computer and the specs is in my sig. Well like sometimes when I turn on the computer... it seems it takes awhile to boot into windows 7 and when I do finally go into my desktop, it's like it locks up for while when it goes to the network icon then i got to wait until it unlocks itself, then I could use my computer normal. I don't know whats wrong with my computer.. It didn't do this when I had my old set up which was a gigabyte p45, e8500 and 4 gigs of ddr2 1066 ram. Also brought a better PSU for this set up cause my old psu was only 600, brought a 850 one.

my new setup is in "my system specs". Thank you.

What applications have you installed and how many are loaded at startup? If your system is taking a lot of time to open into windows it could be loading programs that run at startup. 1 way to see (and I'm sure others will have different ideas) is to run a program called hijackthis do a system scan and anything listed under 04 are programs that load during startup. You can check the boxes of ones you don't need to run or don't want to run then click fix. The thing I like about this is if you have unmistakingly check a program, you can go to restore and simply restore it without any negitive problems. http://majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

Did you do the install with all 3 of your drives hooked up? And did you have all 6gb of ram in use as well? The reason I ask is I always do a clean install with as little of ram and peripherals as possible. Then once I have it formatted and installed I add everythig else 1 thing at a time in case I run into an issue I know when it started and with what. You have a killer system and should be screaming fast.

I would try pulling a stick of RAM but make sure you don't pull one that kills the dual channel mode. Look in your manual on which slots to use for "dual channel". One thing I've always noticed is PC's seem to run better with pairs of sticks. It only takes a second and you will know almost immediately.

Your manual says for 3 sticks to populate Dimm_A1, B1, and C1 is this how you have them? Also there is a BIOS update have you updated? BIOS version 0406 "Fixed Vista may loading slowly when populated memory size is larger than 3GB and with high-end VGAs." this may also apply to windows 7.

You could also check in the BIOS for issues...

Try using AHCI for SATA mode (or disabling it if it's on by default), enabling/disabling suspicious settings for RAM speed, CPU overclocking , RAM overclocking etc.

Also, try changing you current antivirus (if you have one already installed) with another.
