All browsers crashes + other applications

This isn't exactly an BSOD issue, so if I'm posting in the wrong section, I'm sorry! I could not any section of the forum fitted better for the post.

    Problem:
All browser crash immediately or as soon as I place the cursor in an input or search.
Steam would start, I can see in the task manager that a process call steamerrorreporter.exe starts after a few seconds, but then disappears again. Other games would start as well, other “bigger apps” like MS office seems to be running fine.

    Solutions tried:
    Opening Internet Explorer no addons
Virus and malware scan with different tools
    Remove java and flash
    Reinstall Firefox and chrome browsers
    Run the system in safemode
Preformed a “Clean boot” without loading and startup items
Use system restore to return to recovery point
Boot from Windows disk and use repair option
Done an sfc scan of the system

    Notes:
The sfc scan is interesting – I fails with the error:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

So looking in the CBS.log for clues – this caught my eye:
Cannot repair member file [l:18{9}]"msctf.dll" of Microsoft-Windows-TextServicesFramework-msctf, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_INTEL (0), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch

    Any help would be appreciated!

In Firefox type about:crashes into the address bar and post some of the newest links.

If you have none, you can also use WinDbg: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/...ce_with_WinDbg

The WinDbg instructions also apply to other browser in most parts.

Hi guys, an thanks for posting!

@ICit2lol: Done a diskcheck, no errors showen and not resolving the problem either.

    @muhahaa
Firefox crashes on startup, so I can't do that.
I followed the steps from the link you provided, and was able to create this debug log from WinDbg.

I does not help me much further, hoping it tells you more then me:)

Ones again, any help or suggestions are welcome...

IMO it's not as much the updates, as it is installing and configuring the apps, tweaking Windows the way I like it.

I hear what you are saying Spagnum I have done this many times and it is a pain. Mate have you got an image that you could sue for some of the data etc? I am not entirely certain but I do think there is a way of slipping stuff in from an image. I'll have scout around and see what I can find.
One thing you night be interested in when you have it set up - if you don't already use it is this
