Mixing a GPT data disk with MBR OS and other data disks

    Hi guys

    Need some advice here.

I have Win 7 Ultimate x64 installed on a H77 board (assume it's UEFI compatible). The OS is on a partition residing on a 160GB raptor HDD that's MBR/NTFS formatted. I also have several other 2TB WD Greens also on MBR/NTFS.

I've recently gotten a Seagate 3TB Barracuda that I intend to use as a data disk.

My question is: Can a GPT data disk work in a sea of other MBR disks?
I don't want to have to reformat the rest of the data disks, or even the OS disk, to MBR if I can help it. With over 10TB of data, I don't have the temp storage to move the data to if I have to convert the rest along with it.

    Thanks guys

Hello DXM, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Yes, you will be able safely have and use a GPT data disk along with the other MBR disks without having to do anything else. You don't even need to use UEFI with a GPT data disk. :)
