Important music and image files were erased

    SO..I need some help

I have an HP Pavilion g6 laptop, and its been working great in the year I've had it. Yesterday, I went to do some DJing practice, and noticed that all my music was gone. All that was left was the sample music. Same thing with all of my pictures and video, gone. I restarted the computer and came back a day later to find everything was still gone. As a DJ, I've built up an extensive library of music, thousands of songs, so that really made me mad. Also I had about a thousand irreplaceable pictures and videos that I backed up from my old phone. Again, as these cannot be replaced, this made me really mad. I have NO idea what happened to the files. When I go into the libraries and look at music, or pictures, it just says that the folders are unavailable. I haven't been doing anything different with the laptop aside from syncing it with my Xbox for media. I'm totally clueless, but I need help, as music is my job, and I don't feel like downloading all that music again.

ANY help would be much appreciated

Make sure these files are just not hidden,
    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/56005-file-folder-hide-unhide.html
Which by the way is usually the first sign of Malware.
You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
Uncheck the box to Activate the Free trial from the final install options,

This one is the longest up to 4 hours, the others are only about 45 minutes,

System restore usually excludes personal files,
If you used Restore previous version on the folders it would be different.
Right click the effected folder and Properties/ Previous version.
It could take a couple of minutes to populate restore points of the folder.

Right click the My Music... folder or where ever these files were located,
    Click on Properties,

You might also want to check if there is something wrong with your user profile, Windows might be loading a temp user profile, which might explain why all of your stuff is missing.
