Hello Ghythybhy,

If you are going for a clean install, be sure to pay special attention to step 5 of the tutorial that Mitchell linked;

If the problem is indeed malware, than a complete reformat is required to make sure that your clean install isn't directly infected.

----------

If you feel like giving it another shot before opting for a clean install, please do the following;

Please follow this tutorial and upload the .zip file created by the SF Diagnostic Tool in your next reply.

----------

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here or here.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Please uncheck the Enable free trail checkbox.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy & Paste the entire report between

tags in your next reply.
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

----------

Please run a free online scan with the ESET Online Scanner

Note: You will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan.
  1. Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
  2. Click Start.
  3. When asked, allow the ActiveX control to install.
  4. Click Start.
  5. Make sure that the options Remove found threats and the option Scan unwanted applications is checked.
  6. Click Scan (This scan can take several hours, so please be patient).
  7. Once the scan is completed, you may close the window.
  8. Use Notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt.
  9. Please copy and paste that log between

tags in your next reply.

----------

You mentioned that SFC didn't go past 44%, but I'd like you to try it again just to be sure;
Please use the SFC /SCANNOW command as displayed in option two of this tutorial.
  1. Click on the .
  2. Open an elevated command prompt.
  3. Type "SFC /SCANNOW" without the quotations.
  4. Let SFC do it's thing, and then prompted to, restart.

    If SFC found and repaired anything, please do the following:
  5. When restarted, open an elevated command prompt.
  6. Type (or copy) the following, this will create a .txt file on your desktop;
    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
  7. In your next reply, please attach this file using the method displayed in this tutorial.
Note   Note

If SFC doesn't work, as you mentioned earlier, please create a repair disc by following this tutorial, and then change the Boot order and perform a scan with SFC as displayed in method 2 of this tutorial.

Good luck and keep us posted,
Nommy

But the idea of downloading the ISO as directed in the link is that it will be free from any manufacturers bloatware and give a really clean install. All you need is the licence key that you wil find on the COA sticker on the side or back of your PC!

I have MBAM + MSE + the Microsoft Defender Offline installed on my system both didn't detect anything.

SFC /SCANNOW still stops at 44% and i forgot what it said when it stopped.

I'll be doing the SF Diagnostic Tool now

I'll do this as soon as ESET Online Scanner is done and SF Tool.

Good, thanks for the update!

When you are done with the SF Diagnostic Tool and ESET, you could try the options I listed in the note with SFC, so that SFC will run from the repair disc. It will most likely work then

Good luck and keep us posted,

Does Explorer.exe also crash in safe mode with networking?
If not, you can also run the scans and tools from that mode.

You can follow this tutorial to see how to get into safe mode with networking.
Be sure to select safe mode with networking in the boot menu, as you won't be able to run ESET / use the internet from regular safe mode.
