Need help with hard drive repair, system is taking a long time to boot
In addition when it does boot I can't launch any programs which aren't part of the system (I can change desktop settings, search my hard drive, etc. but can't run things like Skype or chrome.) My laptop has been having a weird issue for a while where when it came out of sleep it would have this issue, but run fine in terms of speed. When I restarted it everything would run fine. Yesterday I was forced to do a hard shut-down after waking it up (was short on time and needed to catch a flight.) now when I start it my machine takes a long time to boot and won't run non-system related programs at all. I've tried using check disk in safe mode, but at the rate it was going it would have taken a week or more for something to happen. (I left it on 5 hours and it got through 4% reading bad files most of the way.) Now I've been running sart up repair for around four hours a it's been attempting disk repairs the whole time. Should I let it keep running, or should I try something else? (If so, what should I do?)
