    From post #6
Gary, the backup that I restored from was created using the OneKey Recovery program that shipped with the Lenovo laptop I have.

After you did this did you check or change any user accounts?
Have you check to see if the permission for all drives is as you want them.

Here is another option. Take a good read through this Tutorial.

Thanks for more info LayBack Bear.

I followed option 2 as I have the Premium version of Win7. This created a new account named Administrator and works perfectly....thank you.

Is there any way to transfer my existing account (programs, desktop, files etc) across to the new account then delete my original account? Then I could rename my new account to the name of my old account and everything would be as it was a month ago.

    Hi LayBack Bear

I followed the link you gave me and read right through it. I don't think this is what I was looking for, so I have now changed the admin account to suit with all the relevant shortcuts etc.

I would like to thank you and everyone else for their help and suggestions it has been invaluable.

As things stand at the moment, I have 2 accounts, both have all the same permissions but only 1 is named Administrator and acts like an administer, the other account is as it was with all the problems we have been talking about.

As I can now do what I need to do with this account, I will mark it as solved.

    Once again, thank you.
