Resolving Issues with Error Codes.............

My Computer Illiteracy can get the better of me in the best of times, so that being said I sometimes wish I had a Computer Wizard standing by ....:) I've been dealing with Failed Updates and getting Error Codes 80071A91 & 80070643..I still have maybe 13 updates that microsoft says are critical but I'm somehow unable to download if thats the right word...

In my guarded rooting around if you will I managed to get some updates...When I'd shutdown the computer and get the Update Notice to Not turn the Power off and so on..That has stopped as it seemed to be in Repetitious Mode..

On Start Up I still get the Black & White message Checking File System C, Checking for Disk Consistency..I don't seem to be getting anywhere with Fix It..

Looking back and trying to analyze where the Fly in the Ointment could be I somehow wonder if something got clicked that shouldn't have been clicked...I have the Free Avast Anti Virus , Home Edition and my Son installed the Malware Bytes...There was a HiccUp between the 2 if you will and the Malware Bytes was Removed...It was around this time my Issues began...Thanks

Have you tried installing the updates one at a time. They might be conflicting with each other!

I see you had the same problem two weeks ago and it does not appear you tried the solutions offered you! Did you solve the problem yourself two weeks ago?

The black and white screen is chkdsk. Unless you let it run to completion it will come up on overy boot. The OS sets the "dirty bit" on the partition which means chkdsk should be run on it at next boot. The only way I know to clear it, other than booting some Linux disc and physically reseting it, is to let chkdsk run until it's finished.

After you can boot without getting the chkdsk then we can proceed from there.
