    .inf files and their opperations - List needed


    Hi folks...Is there any documentary or information on the net that has a list of all (or most) of Window's ".inf"-files and what they do? I.e. i know "sr.inf" restores the System Restore section of Windows if it gets corrupt...so i thought it would be a good idea to have MOST of all these ".inf" file documentation at hand in case you need to do a certain repair on windows...

    Hi RobinHood, Here may be a good place to start Overview of INF Files (Windows Drivers) Searching on the net I could not find a definative list ,hopefully you may have better success

In Windows XP and I believe it worked in Vista there was a command line prompt to create a txt file listing all the subfolders and files for a directory. This is the prompt I use in Win XP and it works and creates a txt file with a list on my C drive. I have tried this in Windows 7...
