Windows 7 Professional OS is in French

I've just bought a LENOVO Edge 72 with 'Windows 7 Proffessional' pre installed. I bought it from Amazon.fr for my house in France - what I didn't know was the OS was in French. I thought all Operating Systems came with a choice of language but apparently not. I need an English version - any ideas

Windows 7 Proffessional OS is in French

Thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately my OS is in French - all the steps laid out can and have been followed selecting the 'English(UK )' options or, as my case 'Anglais(Royaume-Uni)'; all that displays in English are date and time, otherwise all prompts etc are in French. In the last window 'Copy Settings' tells me, in French, that all my language (location) options are Anglais(Royaume-Uni)/Royaume-Uni.

Hello Roy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Unfortunately, you would need to have Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise installed to be able to change your display language to English. That feature is not available in Windows 7 Professional.

Hi Brink - thanks for your reply. Yea, having read a few blogs and software upgrade offers, that seems to be the situation. My best hope is that Amazon.fr will accept a return...?

    Cheers Roy
