The PC says "No Internet Connection" but I have internet.

Hello everybody, and thank you in advance for your time and energy given.

I have a problem with my internet connection on my PC as the Network and Internet status tab says that I have no internet connection and that I am not connected anywhere.
Problem is that I am actually connected to my network and I have internet., but the PC does not see it.
I have tried (almost) everything, but with no result.
I could live with that if I only wanted to surf, but in order to install a game I need a normal connection

I have reset the modem, router, the PC but nothing.
Please mind that on the Firewall info, it appears that the PC is connected to Public Network, and not on a Private one, but I can't change the settings as the network is not there to click it

I must mention to be more detailed that when I open the WiFi, the computer can find the network I want, I connect, says that I am connected to the network, but on the top of the small box says Not Connected!

I attach the diagnosis as well

I'd like to thank you in advance,
Elias

Hi eliasmanos, Welcome to Sevenforums.

Unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of your PC and plug it back. Do you see some lights blinking on the card?
If yes, then check if the NIC (Network Interface card) in which your cable is plugged in, is showing up in your Device manager.
Update the drivers for your NIC.

Go to command prompt and check if you are getting any IP address from your modem/router.
Type IPCONFIG and check the IP address. If you are not getting any IPs, go to network setting and select "Obtain the IP address automatically". Do the same for DNS as well. Click OK and check.

Keep us posted.

Hi Archer, firstly thank you for replying

I am afraid that there are some terms that I don't quite understand

e.g
Quote:
Do you see some lights blinking on the card?
/ which "card"?

2. Where is the NIC and how can I check it?
3. In order to update my drivers, it asks me for money ( )

Oops sorry! Do you see a cable coming out of your modem/router and connecting to your PC. The port on which the cable will be connected to is called Network interface card. I am attaching a picture of it for your reference. When you connect the cable coming out of the modem to the card, it should blink and you will be able to see some lights. That way we are sure that modem and PC are able to talk.

Tell us what NIC are you using. It should not ask for money to update the drivers.

As per your IPCONFIG output, it says "Media disconnected" that shows that the modem and PC are not connected via cable as it is not showing any IP address. Check the connection.

Hi again
Archer it is not possible to see it as we are dealing with an iMac and everything is sealed

The head breaker is that the computer is actually connected to both Ethernet and WiFi, opens the windows in all browsers and all pages I ask for but still; it does not understand that there is connection! :/

One thing I will like to confirm though. If you say that the connections are perfect and you are able to browse (use internet). How come IPconfig output shows no IPs?

Did you try to double click on the red ex to see if the repair wizard can fix the problem?
