I see in your thread at the other forums that by changing from Classic Shell you are able to hibernate now? Is that correct?

I use Windows 7 Start Menu for Windows 8 which grafts on the Win7 Start menu from Win7 in a Dual Boot or the Win7 installer. It also turns off Metro so that all you have to do is reset Default Programs to avoid the crApps.

Please click on the "Easy System specs" link in my signature and use it to fill in your profile, both here and on Eightforums.

You say OS Win7 here and OS Win8 over there. Are there two machines exhibiting the same issue or are you running a VM with Win7 or Win8?

Try disabling hibernation and leaving it off to test for a day or two. Just be aware that it is off (save your work more regularly in case of power failure).

I would also uninstall "Windows 8 Start button" and run native Windows - when this is resolved, you can reinstall it or try another shell.
