Orange screen instead of Bios at start up

    Hello guys,
I have a friend using Window 7 premium , who lives in Australia , and he asked me to see if anyone had any idea of why at startup , he sees not the Bio splash page , but an Orange screen , then as it loads his desktop it changes to normal screen for desktop with his icons and such.
I have never heard of anything like this, and told him I would check here and maybe someone has a suggestion of what he could do.. Thanks in advance.

Has he tested the video card or checked for a 'failing' disk?

Ask him, is it a solid orange screen, is there any text on it ? How long does it last ?

K.. latest.. solid Orange, no text.. last about 30 to 45 seconds before he goes from splash start up page to the desktop. I have had him check drivers for Video and they are up to date.

It would be better if you had your friend join Seven Forums and have him get help directly rather than having you pass on what we think.

Thanks. I have to pull teeth to get info to help him. This guy is really not even computer savvy at all. I will close thread.. and say thanks to all the assistance received so far.. It is a real head scratcher for sure.. I have never heard of anyone getting a colored screen in between the start up page and the desktop.. Most puzzling.
