HP Win 7 Home wont boot Custom PC

I am upgrading my 3 yr old HP to a custom PC. I want to use the Genuine HP WN 7 license on the custom PC
The new system will not boot from the HP boot drive. I also tried to restore the HP system to the Custom PC The new system would not boot; OXCOOOO225 Device not available.

It seems the HP Win 7 checks for HP hardware so it wont boot the custom PC.

Is there anyway I can override HP and use the licensed Win 7 on the custom PC?

If you want to move the HD from your HP to a new build then as Jerry say you'll need to buy a new license, but you can adapt the install you have to boot on the new HDD by either SysPrep to move HD to another computer it on the old hardware first, or once you've moved it boot Paragon Adaptive Restore CD to P2P Adjust it to the new hardware.

Sometimes it also requires running Startup Repair a few times from the Win7 disk to repair the boot as well. Probably best to do a Clean Install Windows 7 unless you really like your current install.

I downloaded a Win 7 Home Premium ISO file, then did a clean install. The HP license was accepted.

That is a violation of the EULA. (End User License Agreement)
The HP COA is for the HP system only.

It will of course work..........as you discovered, I am only informing you of the fact stated above.
That is (I believe) considered piracy.
