Windows flashing problem

I'm not sure where to put this post, relocate it if its in the wrong place!

I'm having this problem that randomly when i click on like shall we say "computer" it will.. hard to explain but i will do my best!
When you click on a window like the "Computer" window it gets highlighted but randomly for me it will de-highlight and highlight in an flashing motion until i press rapidly on the X button to shut it down or when i go to the "windows task manager" to shut it down i have now idea what caused this and i have had this problem for a while so i think i don't have any restore points to got to i thought it was a 1 time thing but then it came more and more so i didn't do any thing until now have tried shutting down background programs to see if that woks but i don't want to shut down any important programs..

Really appreciate if someone could help me with this! =)

Well I know what you mean. I had the same problem with 7Zip but luckly I had a restore point.

This Tutorial by Brink might be helpful to find what is wrong.
Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Also this might help.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

This seems to be tied in with your thread in Gaming. After following Bear's links I'd consider running Malwarebytes.

If you have use this Advanced SystemCare 6 Pro in my opinion your next step is repair install or clean install. Their is no way of knowing what that program has done.

so what your saying is that "Advanced SystemCare 6 Pro" may have deleted some system files?
one more thing "Clean Install" is re-installing windows 7? just wondering

Bear didn't say that "Advanced SystemCare 6 Pro" may have deleted some system files he said there's no way of knowing what it did.

Anyway... the System Repair might fix it
and yes, the clean install is a re-install.

You might want to uninstall Advanced SystemCare 6 Pro and run this tutorial: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
follow the instructions to run at least 3 times, booting between

Think I'm going to wait a while, have some things to do and then re-install windows (I think its time for it anyway) if this doesn't do it then I don't know what to do...
Thanks for all the advise!

EDIT

I have reinstalled windows 7 and I haven't had any problems with this any more so reinstalling windows is the fix I guess =)
