Windows 7 Home Faster than Ultimate ?

Today one of my friend told that Windows 7 Home is faster than Windows 7 ultimate.
I'm always installing ultimate edition of windows 7.
So is it real? Is there anybody tried it

My thoughts are that there will be a lot of people doing clean installs over the next few weeks and IME a clean install will be faster than an old one for a while.
And a lot of them will be going from Ultimate (RC or leaked versions etc) to paid for versions of HP.
I could be wrong but it makes sense to me.

depend on your system, but in general, win ultimate has more stuffs than home pre, so unless your system is superb, then you will see abit different in speed between win ultimate and home pre. Thats why you should consider you version do u need, do you need to use all the advance features which are supported by ultimate or just general use. IMO for fast and reliable (home user) home pre is more than enough

Even if that was the case, you could just disable the things in Ultimate that makes it slower.
