    Date Not Displaying

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I couldn't think of where else to post it.

Anyway, yesterday the date in the system tray randomly stopped appearing. It still shows the time, just not the date. I didn't change any settings or anything like that, I just remember looking down and noticing it was gone. I've looked in the date's settings and it still knows the correct date, it just will not put it on the task bar.

I've looked on google to find people having similar problems, but nobody with a solution. I've tried restarting the computer as well, to no avail.

Can anyone explain why this is happening? Why my computer no longer feels I should know what day it is...

Do you have a backup from before the problem to restore from?

No Date with Time Only Showing in Taskbar

The issue is most likely that you turned on use small icons in your taskbar properties.

Right click on blank area in your taskbar and select properties from the taskbar. The Taskbar tab will display as default. Ensure the Use small icons checkbox is unchecked.

    On Soapbox:
Nice. Windows give you an option to use smaller icon to save taskbar space by using small icon. They consider the time/date an icon I suppose, oddly. Most users don't however. So you make the change, like the small icons but don't look at what happened to the date/time. That's Windows for you....actually that's developers and business analysts not thinking it through.
    Off Soapbox.

I feel better now and hopefully this helps you as this issue was driving me crazy too! I am cool now.
