Mouse right click button menu transparent and slow until hovered over

Hi i seem to be having this problem which i noticed for a while now, when i right click to bring up the menu or even when i pull down a menu from a list such as File Edit etc.... it seems to stop at a transparent menu and only after i hover over it, jitters into what it is supposed to be like (was)normally.

If i right click into this box where i am writing this thread(im using google chrome) the right click menu is fine and responds appropriately.

I dont know why it is doing this but it hasnt always been like this and does so in windows 7 x64

    Follow these steps:

Click type performance information and tools -hit enter. Now click adjust visual effects.

    Uncheck the following:

Fade or slide menus into view
Fade or slide tooltips into view
fade out menu items after clicking

Glad the first suggestion worked for you :)

While your in visual effects, if you see anything else you don't like or want, unchecking them will increase performance.

Note: You may have to click custom. Experiment and choose the settings that are right for you.
