windows extended display mode, icon missing on wrong invisible desktop

hi, i have my system hooked up to my 5.1 stereo system sound system. every once in a while, my icons and applications would be send to my invisible monitor thats not hooked up ( only sound) when i change my display to extend these displays mode. It's annoying because it doesnt happen all the time, but sometimes. i can do a alt + space , then m to move the windows back but moving the icons is a little harder. how do i fix this problem , and why does it happen only sometimes? win 7 64 bit My temporarily fix is to change back show only desktop 2 only , then rearrange the icons,( hoping it stays after i reset) close and reopen all the programs etc, its so annoying. this would work, but every few weeks it would reoccur again for no particular reason. Is any permanent fix in the registry or file somewhere? thanks. wth, i made paragraph but it wont save?

Welcome to Seven Forums icallyou604. Windows has always had issues with dual monitors and where programs open, and such. That said, if you want, download the last free version of Fences. Install it and set your icons on your primary monitor. They will stay put after that.
