I have tried booting the PC from the f8 menu in safemode with and w/o networking and both times it hangs on disk.sys DRIVER file. I have done some research and apparently my hard drive may be damaged and that is why my computer stopped working in the first place. I know my hard drive wasn't in the best condition as I have performed HDD health checkups and it has failed several of the tests (of which I could not tell you because my computer is broken...duh). So I would like some feedback regarding that as well. Thank you all for your time and input I can't tell you how much this means to me!
Oh okay.....in light of that new info, get a new hard drive. Problem should be solved.
You should def replace it if it failed any test.
You could do a couple of things.
Option 1 (recommended),
Boot with windows disk, and use the option to load a driver for a hard disk, thus giving you access to the explorer window. You can then connect an external drive and use the copy and paste functions.
See this tutorial:
Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console
OTHERS:
An enclosure would work,
Booting off a live linux disk like ubuntu would work.
A usb to sata device would work.
Google is your friend for these items.
Pretty simple to use as well.

Thank you so much I will be getting a new hard drive soon hopefully that is the issue and not another piece of hardware.
Hey guys I just got my hard drive and its hooked up to my computer right now, I just can't figure out how to install the os back onto it!
I have 3 discs for windows 7 home premium one is for drivers and utilities one is the operating system itself and the last one is applications.
I changed the boot order so it doesn't read the ODD first but every time it tells me to start up the computer without the disk and then to reinsert it in order to install it, and even when I do so it still prompts me with the same thing.
I'm so close and its just frustrating me so please get back to me as soon as possible!
You want to boot the Optical drive with the OS DVD in place. Why are you making it not the first boot device.
The alternative, if you computer supports it is to set the Hard drive as the first boot device then use the Fxx key (often F12) to bring up the Boot menu where you can select the Optical drive to boot.
sorry I forgot to mention that I had tried this first and it prompted me with what I said before ad that's when I switched the drive order but I will try it again maybe I was doing something wrong
EDIT: being the silly noob I am I was choosing the upgrade option and not the custom. So far everything is going good i'll let you know if I successfully get my computer back into functioning order!
EDIT 2: Ok so during the os installation I left my computer to do its thing while I ate some dinner and when I came back the screen is now black and the mother board is beeping 6 times and then pausing and the power button is flashing orange! Could this be because I didn't install the drivers yet?
