    Reset windows 7 to its defaults?


    Hello,

    Just wondering how i could get my windows 7 back to what it was when i first installed it.

    P.s - The system restore isnt working

    I also dont have my install disk :/

    Computer Specs

    Apple Macbook Black (BootCamp)

    4GB Ram

    2.2 Ghz Intel Dual Core Processor

    160GB Hard drive
      My Computer

    A clean re-install with format. just remember you have to re-install all the apps. best to do a back up just in case

    Hello Mitchell,

    Well, if you wanted to format and start fresh, then you can do a Clean Install of Windows 7 to do so.

    Without a installation DVD, then you will need to go purchase one or find yours though.

    Are you talking about customizations you've made or just insuring that the original files are intact? You can do (from an admin command prompt) sfc /scannow or you can even do a repair install but that won't clear the customizations or registry edits you've made.

    Great responses! Love it,

    I dont have the instal disk. so i cant do a format re install.

    Also, i do not mind all my apps being un installed and my settings! i just want to start a fresh.

    i tried the "sfc /scannow" in admin cmd it came back with:

    Windows Rescource Protection did not find any integrity violations

    is there a simple way lol? i dont care about my documents or apps.

    I hope that they are using their own product key number to activate it own their computer instead. Otherwise, you will have issues trying to activate it on your computer again with the same number until they uninstall it or change their key number to their own.
