    Corporate Reg Tweaks

    Hi All,

I'm looking for registry tweaks that people and/or company's use to modify, improve, or tweak Windows 7 in any way. Please note, I'm looking for registry mods and not existing group policy.

    Thanks!

Hello Knight1Creeper, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Did you have anything more specific in mind?

For now, you might go through our tutorials for a wide choice of options.

Here's one you may be interested in as well: Optimize Windows 7

    Hope this helps, :)

    Hi Brink,

I'm looking to take a collection of reg keys that improve, secure, or tweak Windows 7 in a corporate domain environment, and write the group policy for them.

Ideally this would be a collection of personal experiences and/or improvements. I figured this site would be a good place to start rather than hitting Google for the same old reg tweaks. I've attached a screenshot of a few I pulled from searching and converted into a policy.

    Thanks!

I could only recommend to go through the tutorials here to see what may catch your eye for this. Many of the tutorials will have a downloadable .reg file available.

Yeah, I'll continue to check out the site. Hopefully in the mean time a few Windows admins will share some personal or corporate tweaks that go into their builds. Thanks for the replies.

The first one that comes to mind is to disable the built-in "administrative shares", a serious security flaw of Windows that shares all your whole drives though network without your knowledge or consent. In networked environments it becomes useful to avoid data from being leaked from workstations, or even worse from the servers.

Over the years I've collected a bunch of those registry tweaks, but I don't think most applies particularly to corporative environments, since they automate some things like fixing explorer faults, file associations and some particular programs, things that are more personal preference over some important group setting.
